What does it take to be successful in an online business?

In an online business you have to have an understanding of general business principles just like any other business in the world.

In an online business you need to understand several areas of business that go into making any business successful, You need to understand first that Location is key.

If you own a brick and mortar business you need to have it in a good location. For example on the corner of two busy streets.

By having the best location for your business your are positioning yourself to generate traffic. Online you want to make sure that the "location" of your business is in the best location that it can possibly be.

Location is the first part to any successful business. And location in business translates to marketing and advertising online. If your website or blog isn't positioned in locations with an affective call to action as to why they should come see what your doing at your site then you just lost without even beginning!

Make sure you have High quality content, content that intrigues readers! content that asks questions, posts pictures video and audio! Mix it up!

The best thing you can do for your online business is have a blog with highly valuable unique content. If you constantly create new content that will position you better in the search engines and help your *KEYWORD* Location!

Make sure you have High quality content, content that intrigues readers! content that asks questions, posts pictures video and audio! Mix it up!

The best thing you can do for your online business is have a blog with highly valuable unique content. If you constantly create new content that will position you better in the
search engines and help your *KEYWORD* Location!

Make sure that you are constantly producing content and delivering value and intriguing people with your writing by asking questions, asking them to leave comments and being extremely interactive.

So whatever marketplace you are in or whatever business you want to make sure that you have a unique viewpoint and show that in your writing and videos and wherever you are online.

The biggest mistake that I see people doing online is not being themselves and trying to share their website and products with everyone. That just doesn't work. You need to give away free value and unique information then once in a while insert an affiliate link or link to your products or services.

The reason I created the wtc method was exactly for that reason. I see so many people trying to not "re-invent the wheel" and do it the guru's way.

One thing that I have realized is that you can follow the same traffic generation strategies and marketing principles that they use but you cannot be them and there products. You need to have your own personality and products and services. When you set yourself apart and have expertise in a smaller niche or sub-niche you set yourself apart from the "rest of the crowd."

I Think that you need to learn these three topics very well in order to be successful online...

1. Websites
2. Traffic
3. Conversion

The first thing that you need to learn is obviously getting a website up, you can do it yourself or hire someone.

It is good to have a basic understanding of websites, html and how wordpress works for example if you are blogging through that platform. The reason it's good to have a basic knowledge in this area is so that you can have it work for you best.

The best websites out there are the most complex yet simple at the same time. Just look at google and facebook, simple yet complex!

So it's good to start to learn and get a basic understanding so that you can make your blog or webpage more exciting and implement different things that may help your sales or opt-in rate such as a video or audio.

And you never know... You may come up with a new "BIG website idea" like facebook or youtube? so it's good to have general knowledge!

The Second thing that is extremely important is traffic generation.

Traffic generation is really not that hard at all. Here are a few examples of ways to start sending traffic to your website immediately.

You can write squidoo lenses, articles, hubpages, blogspot and wordpress free blogs, video marketing through youtube, twitter, facebook, myspace and that's just a start!

The list goes on and on.

Once you start to create content outside of your website that is valuable information you will find that visitors will come visit your website from it. So go to these websites and create content and point them back to your website or blog.

The benefit to making content on these sites also helps with your search engine rankings because it's links pointing back to your site. Traffic is where a lot of people get stuck, BUT if you keep updating content on your site and adding more to other free sites out there like youtube, squidoo lenses and articles it will start to increase.

Just keep working at it! the other thing that I do is i read other bloggers in my marketplaces blog
and I will leave comments on their blog so that I have links from 100's of blogs out there pointing back to mine... :) pretty smart huh? try that one!

The Third part is the last puzzle piece that make's the picture complete.

If you have a website that's getting traffic this is the kicker.
You need to learn sales and marketing.

Conversion is one of the areas that i also see a lot of people get stuck online. They just do not know how to sell through their writing, video or anything!

This is extremely vital to your businesses life and growth. I would recommend reading some sales, marketing, and psychology books to understand how people work and what make's them take action and decide to say "YES!" and click the buy button on your webpage.

The best way to sell is to not sell, what I mean by that is simply offer it ot people as an option.
Your salespage or offer should do the selling. If you come across as desperate to get website visitors in your marketing then it won't work.

Decide to be indifferent about it, the more careless you are about your website the more they will care about it... make sense?
On your salespage for your product and service you want to do a couple of things...
You want to have an amazing offer that is worth more than the cost. If the product is $20 then they should be getting $100 worth of materials.

They should always feel like what they are getting outweighs what they are paying by a long shot. If they are getting more than what they are paying for by a long shot and it will help them in their business or life who wouldn't buy it?
they would feel stupid not too!

That is some of the best advice I can give to anyone who has an online business.

Master and I do mean "MASTER" websites, traffic and conversion.

I encourage you to read the wtc method to learn some of the basics if you haven't already. You can find it here:

How To Become A Super Affiliate In 5 Steps

Affiliate marketing can be a great way to make money. Finding a niche market with products and services you trust and believe in is the first step to success. There are tremendous affiliate programs which offer you an abundance of tools and materials to promote and market their products. However, what you do with those tools and materials is entirely up to you. You can be just another affiliate or a super affiliate.

What Is A Super Affiliate?

Technically speaking a super affiliate is someone who generates a significant amount of profits for the products or services they represent. A super affiliate can make a healthy living from their affiliate business alone while a standard every day affiliate may need to supplement their affiliate income with, gasp…a 9-5 job!

Benefits To Being A Super Affiliate

The most significant benefit to being a super affiliate is the income. Many super affiliates make six figures simply promoting the products and services of others.

Additionally, if you’re one of the main contributors to a company’s affiliate program they’re going to pay attention to you and your needs. You may receive a higher percentage of sales you may receive first shot with new marketing materials and programs and you’ll get the support you need when you need it.

Here Are A Few Steps To Become A Super Affiliate:

Step One – Commit to publishing content every single day. Content has proven time and again to be the best sales tool available to affiliate marketers. Nothing, not even strategically placed ad copy works as well as providing quality content that pre-sells any product that you’re promoting on your website.

Possible content includes:

* Autoresponders.
* E-newsletters.
* Blogs posts
* Social networking via forums, social networking sites, and chat rooms
* Articles
* Press releases

Step Two – Track and test. Make sure you know where your prospects are coming from, what motivates them to click through and what information they read and respond to – then give them what they need. Tracking and testing is the only way to hone your affiliate program into a smooth running, money making machine.

Step Three – Use the provided marketing materials and be willing to take it a step further. Many affiliate programs do a great job of providing their affiliates with ready to go marketing materials including:

1. Banner ads
2. Buttons
3. Email copy
4. Articles
5. Free promotional reports

Use the materials your affiliate manager has provided. It’s been tested and developed for results. That being said, be sure to create your own content too. Even as an affiliate you are your own company and your website needs to reflect your personality and brand. Building a community around your website and providing valuable content is a sure way to create a following that trusts you and your credibility – which will result in click throughs and affiliate sales.

Step Four – Pre-sell. The good news is that your job as an affiliate is to pre-sell products and services. Pre-selling means your content, whether it is a review, article, tutorial, course, or blog post, speaks honestly about the products and services you promote. Pre-selling is about providing value to your website visitors and prospects, making them comfortable with you and your authority to generate interest and a click through to the company website, where the selling happens.

Step Five – Follow up. Just like your affiliate manager follows up with you to see how you’re doing and what you need, follow up with your prospects. A great way to do this unobtrusively is to create a lead list by providing a newsletter visitors can subscribe, a free report, or any number of products in exchange for an email address and the permission to contact them with valuable information and special promotions.

Being a Super Affiliate is the only way to go if you want to build a successful affiliate marketing business. Find products and services you trust and believe in and then create a strategy to share information to your target audience. Test and track your efforts, focus on providing value to your prospects and leave the selling to the companies you represent. Helping others live better lives, without having to provide the products or services personally, is a great way to make a living.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 5
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

The word "overhead" is not a favorite among those who run
businesses of any kind. Nobody likes the expenses of
operating a business. And nobody really talks about them
much when it comes to promoting all of the "money-making"
products and services online.

But, don't kid yourself, there's a lot of overhead.

That brings me to the fifth reason why I love affiliate
marketing...

** You don't need a big budget to make it work **

Do you have any idea how much money is spent running an
internet business? There are monthly fees for...

* Autoresponders
* Hosting
* Management
* Advertising
* Scripts
* Much more

There are regular fees for...

* Licensing
* Outsourcing
* Support
* Customer Service
* Maintenance
* Development
* Recruting
* Much more

It's not uncommon to spend tens of thousands (even
hundreds of thousands) of dollars in operational
costs -- which is fine if you've been in business
a while and are making the bucks. However, if you're
a newcomer, it can be taxing on your budget!

SIDEBAR: I paid one girl over $30,000 last year
just to oversee one small part of my business.
No one talks much about it, but there ARE a lot
of expenses involved before you get to the
"bottom line" of profit.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don't need a big
budget to make it work! You can simply use a variety
of free and low-cost marketing methods to generate
clicks to your affiliate link.

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need a big budget to make it work.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 4
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

I'm sure by now you are well aware that there are those who
have reported HUGE amounts of money being made with their
online businesses. What you may not be aware of is the
amount of work involved in generating those "sales" (not
always net profit, mind you ... this isn't "spendable"
income in a lot of cases.)

That brings me to the fourth reason why I love affiliate
marketing...

** You don't need to manage an entire business **

While it can be quite lucrative, running an entire business
with employees, inventory, partners, vendors, and other
associates can be a time-sucking, frustrating ordeal.

Imagine...

* Processing refunds
* Putting out fires when partners SPAM
* Managing day-to-day operations
* Overseeing projects you've outsourced
* Recruting new affiliates
* Training everyone to help you
* Paying taxes
* Taking care of the paper trail
* Doing all of the "stuff" that business owners do.

Didn't you want to start an internet business to make
more time for important things in life?

Why not make a lot of money WITHOUT making a lot of extra
work for yourself?!

It can be a lot of extra work and stress. BUT, with
affiliate marketing, you don't need to manage an entire
business! You are simply responsible for promoting your
affiliate link... someone else handles all the rest.

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need to manage an entire business.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 3
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

Some people have the ability to persuade others and talk
them into just about anything. Especially when it comes
to influencing their buying decisions. They know how to
push the right hot buttons, say things the right way and
generally get consumers into an emotional frenzy to the
point they are ready to click an order button.

There are two key words in that paragraph that really need
to stand out in your mind: "some people".

Not everyone has this ability. In fact, only a few do.

That brings me to the third reason why I love affiliate
marketing...

** You don't need to write a world class salesletter**

Have you ever tried to write a salesletter? There's a
reason why professional copywriters charge up to $10,000
(and sometimes even more) for a SINGLE salesletter. It
takes a lot of experience and skill to write a top-gun
salesletter, which is why most people have a hard time
convincing people to buy if they do create their own
products and website.

They simply don't have the right salesletter in place
to make it all work. Without good copy, it really doesn't
matter how spectacular the offer is, you're simply not
going to get many sales.

SIDEBAR: The average conversion rate of site visitors
who become buyers is reportedly less than 2%. That
means 98 out of every 100 do NOT buy. That's why
sales are so incredibly bad for a poor site ... you
*might* get 2 sales out of every 300-400 visitors.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don't need to write a
salesletter! You simply direct people to someone else's
high-octane salesletter for THEM to convert your leads
into commissionable sales.

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need to write a world class salesletter.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 2
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

Pop quiz time. What does "HTML" stand for? Don't know
that one? How about this - what does "FTP" stand for? OK,
one more chance. Do you know how to work with either?

That brings me to the second reason why I love affiliate
marketing...

** You don't need to build a website **

What scares people more than creating a product is building
a website!

* What in the world is HTML? Or FTP?
* How much does the software cost? And hosting?
* How do I upload files?
* Why isn't it formatted correctly?
* Why don't my graphics look like the ones the pros have?

If you are a complete beginner, it can be very difficult
(even using templates) to get an attractive website in place.
And hiring a professional to do it fo ryou is out of the
budget for most people.

But, with affiliate marketing, you don't need to build a
website. You simply send visitors to someone else's
professionally designed site through your affiliate link.

SIDEBAR: Just in case you're interested, HTML stands
for "hypertext markup language" and is the coding
used to build webpages. FTP stands for "file transfer
protocol" and is the process used for moving files
from your computer to a website, or vice versa.

Really, in a manner of looking at it, you get to take
advantage of the time and money invested by someone else
to develop the site. Think about it: when you promote an
affiliate link, it reflects firstly upon YOU. You are the
one who is advertising the link, recommending the product,
sending people who have interacted with YOU to the website.

The professional site of someone else really represents
you as the promoter, in the eye of those who have clicked
through your link.

You get the benefits without the bother.

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need to build a website.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 1
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

Do you find yourself "starting" to create your own product
to sell online, but never "finishing" it?

One of the things I love about affiliate marketing is --

** You don't need to create your own products **

Many people find the idea of creating their own products to
be an overwhelming and even paralyzing task.

* I don't have any good ideas!
* I'm not a writer!
* There's too much competition!
* I don't know how to set everything up!
* I can't figure out where to start!
* It's too hard!

These are just a few of the valid reasons many people give
when it comes to not creating their own products to sell.
I'm sure with a few minutes of brainstorming, we could come
up with a list of many more.

With affiliate marketing, you don't need your own products.
You simply promote someone else's already proven successful
offer for a commission.

And, truth be told, even if you ARE a writer and you DO have
lots of ideas and you CAN figure it all out...

** Nobody wants to create new products all the time **

As good as you may be, you don't know everything! Why try
to create a product on every topic imaginable in your
market when you can earn just as much money by simply
promoting someone else's really good offer as one of your
profit streams?

That's why I love affiliate marketing.

You don't need to create your own products.

The REAL SECRET To Consistent Commission Checks

By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"

.........................

It's important that you understand something about affiliate
marketing from the very beginning -

Earning affiliate income isn't easy
for the average person.

Let's face it, there are 50 gazillion other people out there
doing the exact same thing you are doing - if you could remember
what it is that you are doing. :)

So, that's what I want to address. Here's the mindset that I
want you to remember: there are only so many customers out there.
And each affiliate in the program is doing basically the same
thing to try to reach them.

That's why you are going to be different. Got it?

Before I jump into what I consider to be the "real secret" to
earning commissions with affiliate programs, let me share with
you a basic concept that is going to be important to what you
are going to learn today.

Here is how the average affiliate approaches promoting their
affiliate link...

A) Send out a mailing. Purchase ezine ads. Get a few
pay-per-click keywords. Post a few links. Make a small
profit. Get discouraged. Move on to the next affiliate
program.

Or, if they are slightly more aggressive...

B) Send out a mailing. Purchase ezine ads. Get a few
pay-per-click keywords. Post a few links. Write a few articles.
Create an eBook. Do a joint venture. Swap ads. And they
continue promoting that same affiliate program until they
(along with a few other aggressive affiliates) have found
every potential customer on the face of the earth. Make
a decent profit. Where do I go now? Move on to the next
affiliate program.

While I certainly agree that the "slightly more aggressive"
affiliate is on the right trail with their approach, it still
leaves a common problem that all affiliates have...

Finding NEW customers.

You make an affiliate sale. Great. You make another one.
Great. You keep working and working and working to make
another sale and another sale and another sale. Now, remember,
there are a gazillion others out there trying to do the same
thing. And, even if all of these other affiliates only make
one or two sales each...

..that's a LOT of customers that you WON'T be selling to!

For example: If there are 10,000 affiliates promoting
Product A and they all, on average, sell just 2 copies
each, that's 20,000 customers that are immediately
unavailable for you to sell to.

Doesn't matter how hard you promote and how much you do, you
WILL NOT sell them a second copy of something they have
already bought. Even if they love it. They won't buy
another copy.

So, here's the "real secret." While everyone is promoting
the heck out of all of the same programs you are, you need
to refine who it is that you are promoting.

***Bottom line: Start FOCUSING on those affiliate programs
that offer MONTHLY commissions.

Here's why. Let's say you promote an absolutely awesome
product by Mr. Guru that sells for $29.97. And Mr. Guru gives
you 50% commission. By the time all of the processing fees
are out of the way, you earn about $14.00 for a new customer.

And you're done with that customer -- it's time to move on
and find the next guy.

HOWEVER, if you promote an affiliate program that pays
MONTHLY, let's say a membership site, then here's what you
would find happens...

The membership site is $27.00 PER MONTH. You earn $13.50 per
MONTH for every referral you make for as LONG AS THEY REMAIN
ACTIVE!

With the $29.97 product, you earn $14.00 for all of your efforts
in finding a customer. One time commission. That's it. Time
to find another customer. With the MONTHLY service, you earn
about the same commission for that same customer. Then, next
month you earn that commission over again! Month after that,
you're still earning that same commission from that same customer.
For each and every month that the customer continues to use
the service you continue to bring in the commission without
finding a new customer.

Do you see the potential here?

It makes much more sense to focus on promoting affiliate
programs that bill monthly and pay commissions monthly. That
way, you continue to earn profits from the...

Same customer base!

If I am going to buy ads and purchase pay-per-click keywords
and create eBooks and bust my behind to get those customers,
I'd sure rather get paid every month (without doing a bit of
extra work, mind you!) that to only earn a one-time commission.

----------------Side Bar -------------------
While this isn't as good as MONTHLY income, choosing an
affiliate program that offers you LIFETIME customers is the
next best thing. For example: With some programs when you
recruit a customer , they are yours for life. If they
purchase future product releases, then YOU receive the
commission as the original referrer. It's a good second
option, but it's not as good as getting paid monthly!
------------------------------------------------

So, what should you promote? Your eyes have been opened.
You've seen the light. You realize that what you've just
read does make sense. And you want to get paid monthly!

So, what should you promote? While you definitely need
to check things out yourself and make that determination
on your own, let me give you a short list of TYPES of offers
that you can promote that bill monthly and award monthly
commission checks.

* PLR AND RESALE RIGHTS CLUBS

* MEMBERSHIP SITES

* WEB HOSTING

* AUTORESPONDERS AND LIST MANAGEMENT TOOLS

* COACHING CLUBS

* PAID NEWSLETTERS

* SERVICES (AD TRACKING, LEGAL DOCS, MANAGEMENT, ETC.)

The important thing is for you to identify at least one
really good affiliate program that offers residual income
possibilities for you.

Once you find the right program to promote, it's a matter
of getting as many different people to click on your link
as possible. How would you like to have someone teach
you ONE simple way to promote your affiliate links every
week? Read on for details...
